We check that the therapists are registered with one of the twelve professional registers that are accredited in the UK by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA) for Health and Social Care.

Every therapist's profile includes a link to their professional register so that you can verify their status for yourself. We also re-check every therapist's registration annually.

Chartered Psychologist (CPsychol) members of the British Psychological Society (BPS) may also register.

Accredited members of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP) may also register.

No data privacy issues

Counsellingo is not a platform or an intermediary. Your relationship with your therapist is confidential and direct. We are not a third-party, and we do not have access to, nor do we collect, any client data.

Counsellingo is free of charge for both clients and therapists. There are no fees for an entry in the directory and there are no commissions for referrals. There are additional premium services available for registered therapists.

You can register as a therapist if you offer video therapy sessions online, either exclusively, or as part of a hybrid practice, using your own choice of video platform(s).
